Moser Funeral Home History
The Moser family arrived in North Bend in 1942, with plans to establish the Moser Funeral Home.  Hilda earned her funeral directors license and worked at the funeral home until she was in her late eighties. Hilda passed away in 1998. Ed held several jobs in addition to running the funeral home.  He was chief of police for several years, drove the school bus and raised cattle and hogs.  He built and remodeled homes in North Bend.

When he passed away in 1965, he had seen his son, Edward L., establish the Moser Memorial Chapel in Cedar Bluffs and Fremont.   Edward L. was a graduate of North Bend High School, attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont and was a graduate of the Kansas City School of Mortuary Science.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War, and held the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.  He married Doris Wotipka of Wahoo in 1950 and they have 3 children, 10 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.  He started the Moser Funeral Home in Cedar Bluffs in 1952 and worked with his father at the funeral home in North Bend.  He then built the Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont in 1966.

In 1981, Ed purchased the Reckmeyer Funeral Home in Arlington.  Doris  became a licensed funeral director and has been active in the family business.   Jim Moser graduated from North Bend High School in 1960.  He worked for Weldon Industries for seven years, attended Midland College and graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He married Lynda Shanahan on August 1, 1970 and began working with his brother at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
