Charles A. Ladd, 92 years, of Fremont, NE died Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Fremont Area Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 13, 1920 at Morse Bluff, Nebraska to Arthur and Hannah Ladd. He grew up in the Morse Bluff and Nickerson, NE areas and then moved to Fremont. He worked at the Nebraska Ordnance Plant at Mead. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Charles was a route driver for Quality Dairy and Hillside Dairy which then became Roberts Dairy and also worked as a mechanic at Roberts Dairy. He retired in the late 1980’s. He was a member of a V.F.W. Post in Omaha and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 in Fremont.
Charles married Maxine Soukigian on November 21, 1940 at Fremont. Maxine died October 1984.
He is survived by his son, Lester and wife, Sandra Ladd of Fremont; brother, Jack Ladd of Fremont; 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Eugene Ladd, daughters, Phyllis and Vera Ladd; sister, Evelyn Anthony; and brothers, Roy, Bert & Lester “Buster” Ladd.
There is no funeral service. Visitation is Wed. 4 PM to 8 PM and Thurs. 9 AM to 11 AM at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, NE. Military honors will be conducted by members of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20 at the funeral home following private family time. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont at a later date.
