Elaine A. Harms

Elaine A. Harms, 83 years, of Fremont, NE died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Nye Legacy in Fremont. She was born Feb. 11, 1929 at Scribner, NE to Harry and Lora (Iske) Ristau.

She grew up at rural Scribner and was a 1946 graduate of Scribner High School. Elaine married Dale Harms on October 9, 1947 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. The couple farmed northwest of Fremont from 1947 to 2005, when they moved into Fremont. Elaine had been residing at Nye Legacy in Fremont since 2009. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont; member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 Auxiliary and the Fremont Eagles Camping Club; and member of Tri Valley C.B. Radio Club.

She is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Susan & Jack Aspy, Judy & Dean Chapman, Peggy & Randy Brand and Kathy & Matt Hoschiet all of Fremont; sisters-in-law, Nadine Ristau, Dona Mock and Ella Harms all of Fremont; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale, who died March 9, 2006; daughter, Betty Harms; and 4 brothers, Donald, Gail, Harold & Alvin.

Funeral service will be 10 AM, Saturday, April 14th at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Michael Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM the family will receive friends on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. Visitation will continue on Saturday at church 1hr prior to service.

Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont or the American Kidney Foundation.
