Juanita M. Goodrich, 81, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Monday, October 31, 2011, at Lancaster Manor in Lincoln. She was born May 15, 1930 in Leon, IA to Roscoe and Velva (Bucy) Sinco. She grew up in Lamoni, IA and lived in several towns in Iowa until 1973 when she moved to Lincoln. In 2001 she moved to Fremont and then returned to Lincoln in October 2010 where she resided at Lancaster Manor. Juanita married James Goodrich January 2, 1948 in Council Bluffs, IA and they later divorced. She worked for the Nebraska Center for Children and Youth in Lincoln as a group home parent for 20 years.
Juanita was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #158 at Cedar Bluffs and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, and former member of National Organization of Child Care Workers.
She is survived by 3 sons – Jimmy and wife Suzie Goodrich of Taylorsville, KY, Michael and wife Pat Goodrich of Lincoln, NE and Richard and wife Roberta Goodrich of Eagle, NE; 3 daughters – Patricia Carney of Lincoln, NE, Nancy and husband Pat Shanahan of Cedar Bluffs, NE and Rebecca Laher of Lincoln, NE; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: parents; and an infant sister.
Memorial Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Scott Jensen will officiate. There is no viewing however friends may sign the register book 9-5 Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be in Lilly Cemetery at Lamoni, IA.
